More Football

As we all know, the beginning of the World Cup 2010 is getting closer and closer. So I would like to share with you today a post on football, not from the sports point of view, but from the financial one.

You have a listening activity + reading activity + a list of new words to learn. Even a pronunciation exercise.

We'll hold a discussion about this topic on our next lesson.

Football!!!

Whether you've ever been interested in the World Cup or not, I'm afraid you'll have to live with football, football and more football during a very long month!

Yes, confirmed. It's THE sports event of the year.

But are you sure you can have a conversation in English when football is involved? Do you know the name of the different players in the field ... pitch ... Oops, what's the right word? What's the name of the people "helping" the referee? Is it to make or to score a goal? Well, perhaps it's time, and before the South Africa World Cup begins on 11th June, to learn or review this vocabulary and to be prepared to have a very interesting and exciting talk about football ... in English.

Do the following quiz first and then check the answers on this vocabulary list.
