A curriculum vita (CV) is the summary of your academic and work history. It is a brief detail of your education, skills, training and professional experience. It is, unlike the resume, usually longer and in detail. A resume and CV basically differ in length, content and purpose. CV is longer basically having two or more pages. It is a detailed synopsis. It is used when applying for any job. CV should be accompanied by cover letter. It should include your name, contact information, educations, skills and experiences. Furthermore it includes researches, teaching experiences, publications and workshops, professional associations and licenses and other information relevant to the job you are applying for.
In the start of CV you mention your contact information including your name, address, telephone number, mobile number and email address. Then you should mention your personal information like your date of birth, place of birth, citizenship, visa status and gender. You can also give other personal information like your marital status, spouse's name, children but this information is somehow optional. Now give your employment history i.e. your work history, academic positions, research and training. List them in chronological order including both position details and dates. Now mention your educational history. Mention the dates, majors, details of degree, training and certifications of your high school, university, graduate school and then post doctoral training. Now give the data of professional qualification. It enlighten on your certifications and accreditation and computer skills. Your awards, publications, books you authored, professional membership are also helpful in making your CV energetic and attractive. In the end mention your interest and hobbies to give a brilliant and lively look to your CV.
After every six month you should update your CV. Whenever you are applying for the job you need to re-write the CV which should be totally made according to the job you are applying for. You can do this by mentioning your interpersonal skills, strong work ethic. Never mess up your CV or resumes with words. All above tips save your CV to be trashed. Now after all that search for the job by using different job engines. There are many resources you can use for finding job. Newspapers, magazines, internet will help you in this respect. Newspapers are the limited resource for finding job.
There are only few jobs mentioned in the newspaper because of low space. Internet is the unlimited source of information. You can not only search jobs in your country but also come to know about the job vacancies outside the country. It is also the fast way. Also keep in contact with various advertising resources and the people who are already working in the field you want for your job will also helpful for you. When you will called by the hiring managers for interview then it is very necessary to look at your personality and mental attitude.
